Procedural content generation

This article talks about in-game design, with awesome tools built into the gameplay that provide a lot of feedback as the player engages with the game. The technique, often seen in building/strategy games, is termed here as magic crayons – creative tools that are for both fun and play. EA’s Spore took this concept to an extreme by letting players tweak the progress of the game, per single move, using magic crayons.
